The Law Society is taking action to address
racism and discrimination in the professions
by implementing strategies that fall within five
areas of focus:
1. Accelerating culture shift
2. Measuring progress
3. Educating for change
4. Implementing supports
5. Leading by example.
The strategies include regulatory obligations that
lawyers and paralegals are to fulfil in 2017 and on which
they will be required to report annually.
Resources being developed by the Law Society to assist
lawyers and paralegals in meeting these obligations will
be available in the coming months.
