Counsel, Practice Management
As Counsel, Practice Management, you will act as a primary source of
knowledge and information for licensees and Law Society staff in the provision
of responsive, timely, and accurate practice management guidance. You will be
called upon to provide confidential guidance to lawyers and paralegals on a range
of ethical, professional responsibility, and/or practice management matters on
the Practice Management Helpline. As Counsel, you will identify emerging issues
and actively participate in a team response to these issues.
Working closely with the Team Manager, Practice Management, you will also
maintain the existing practice management resources, assess the practice
management needs of lawyers and paralegals, and develop and promote practice
You possess an LL.B. or J.D., or equivalent education and training, a minimum
of 5 years’ experience practising law, a licence with the Law Society, and are
entitled to practise law. You can manage a project from start to completion
with minimal direction, possess strong analytic skills and sound judgment,
demonstrate stellar written and oral communication skills, and want to use your
legal skills to contribute to the legal professions in Ontario. French-language
skills and knowledge of best practices in adult learning and development will be
