The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario is an independent
officer of the Legislature with a multifaceted mandate in the areas of
privacy protection, access to government held information, and access
to one’s own personal information and health records. We have an
opening for an adjudication review officer in our Tribunal Unit to
act as the primary liaison with parties to an appeal, and to provide
advice and assistance to the Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and
Senior Adjudicator in the production and issuance of Notices of Inquiry,
Notices of Review, orders and decisions under the applicable legislation.
Location: 2 Bloor St. E., Toronto.
As the successful candidate, you will have superior writing skills and a
proven ability to perform in a time-sensitive, caseload-driven environment
that is subject to a high degree of scrutiny from the media and the public.
You will have knowledge or training with respect to Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), Municipal Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and Personal Health Information
Protection Act (PHIPA), and in the interpretation and application of
legislation; familiarity with administrative law concepts applicable to the
exercise of statutory decision-making authority; solid organizational/
analytical skills; and well-developed communication, interpersonal and
customer service skills.
Salary range: $70,538 - $103,944 per year
