Orders LAWYER MATTERS
The panel orders:
1. The respondent’s licence to practise law is suspended for two
months, commencing on June 18, 2018.
2. The respondent shall comply with the terms of the Law Society’s
Guidelines for Lawyers Who Are Suspended or Who Have Given an
Undertaking Not to Practise.
3. The respondent shall pay costs totalling $30,000, payable to the Law
Society in the following installments:
i) $2,000 to be paid on or before June 18, 2019;
ii) a further $4,000 to be paid by June 18, 2020;
iii) a further $6,000 to be paid on or before June 18, 2021;
iv) a further $8,000 to be paid on or before June 20, 2022; and
v) a further $10,000 to be paid on or before June 20, 2023.
Commencing the day after each date on which a payment is due, interest
will accrue on any unpaid portion of the current installment and any
previous installments, at the rate of 3% per year.
