As Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide a full range of legal services to the University under the
direction of the General Counsel, with an emphasis on real estate, leasing, construction, procurement
and corporate/commercial matters. You will provide legal advice to senior administrative leaders on
legal risks, advise on legal and policy compliance and ensure that the University’s reputation and
interest are protected. You will provide advice in a timely and effective manner, so that informed
decisions can be made in support of strategic and operational decision making, in collaboration with
the General Counsel.
You must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and have a minimum of
five (5) years of post-call legal experience gained in private practice or an in-house environment.
You must have demonstrated experience working with corporate/commercial and real estate/leasing
matters. Experience working on transactions involving public and private sector collaborations would
be desirable. You have outstanding analytical, drafting and negotiation skills and are a team player
who values building relationships with your colleagues and the University community.

The Office of the City Clerk is seeking a professional to manage, co-ordinate and
supervise the City Clerk’s department including Council Secretariat Services and
Office Services, perform statutory duties under the Vital Statistics Act and the
duties of Deputy Issuer of Marriage Licences under the Marriage Act. Organize
and administer all facets of the Municipal Election every four years, under the
direction of the City Clerk and to perform the corporate and statutory duties of
the City Clerk in his/her absence.
