office. A successful candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience in
administrative law, especially in the areas of expropriation and land use
planning. Civil litigation experience is also an asset. The candidate must be

record and be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

Reporting to the Solicitor & Corporate Counsel, as Assistant County Counsel you will
provide a full range of legal representation and strategic advice to Council and municipal
departments regarding litigation issues, contract law matters, procurement and real estate
law. Your experience should include the preparation of legal opinions and advice in these
areas of law; the preparation and review of contracts, agreements, by-laws, policies, and
related documents; assisting with court and administrative tribunal proceedings; directing
litigation matters; and negotiating with vendors, contractors, litigants, customers and
