plays an important role in the development of these innovative operations and services.
Supporting business groups on legal, risk and strategic issues, the Legal department is involved
in a wide range of matters. The Legal department is now seeking a Legal Counsel, to join its
head office. This individual will be responsible for providing legal and strategic support on
various commercial agreements for purchasing and procurement and will have the opportunity
to split time between Loblaw’s head office in Brampton as well as in North York.
The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of corporate / commercial experience gained from
a major firm and/or corporation. Any commercial IT or procurement experience will also
be of great interest. Excellent negotiation and drafting skills as well as experience working
independently with commercial contracts will be required. Strong time management skills
and a natural curiosity as well as the ability to prioritize will be needed in this busy and varied
practice. An ability to build relationships and provide advice on risk will be required to succeed
in this role as you will be working directly with business groups from across the company.
