The HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario (HALCO) is a community legal clinic serving the legal needs of
people living with HIV in Ontario. HALCO staff provide legal advice and representation, and engage in
public legal education, law reform and community development activities. The clinic is seeking to fill a
Staff Lawyer position. This is a 12-month contract position, commencing in early February 2020 to cover
a parental leave.
Responsibilities: The Staff Lawyer will provide advice, referrals, and brief services, as well as carry
a case load. The lawyer will focus largely on income maintenance, tenancy, human rights and other
administrative law matters. The lawyer may have the opportunity to participate in the clinic’s public legal
education, law reform and community development initiatives.
STAFF LAWYER POSITION (Contract)
• Knowledge of HIV and
• Fluency in French
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society
of Ontario (3-year call)
• Knowledge of clinic/poverty law (e.g., income
maintenance, tenancy, human rights)
• Experience working with equity-seeking communities

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) is seeking a Hearings Officer (Decision
Editor) to support the Professional Conduct department by attending discipline hearings and
assisting in drafting and editing decisions of discipline panels. This role liaises with hearing parties,
members of the Discipline Committee and independent legal counsel. Professional knowledge of
demonstrable experience supporting the work of adjudicators in a legal writing capacity.
