and inconsistent with a high standard of professionalism, contrary
to Rules 4.2-0 and 4.2-1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct as
a. The Respondent’s firm name and other marketing materials
suggest that the Respondent and the manner in which he
provides legal services is qualitatively superior to other lawyers
and their services, insofar as the Respondent employs the
adjective “golden” in his firm name and other marketing
b. The Respondent’s firm name, which references a plurality of
lawyers, and website content is likely to leave the impression
that the Respondent’s firm is comprised of more than one lawyer
when in fact, the Respondent is a sole practitioner.
The panel orders:
1. The Respondent shall be reprimanded.
2. The Respondent shall pay costs to the Law Society in the amount
of $6,000 within one year of the date of this Order, failing which
interest shall accrue on any unpaid part of these costs at a rate of 3%
per year, thereafter.
